There is a state, described by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi as “Flow.” In this state, a person is so absorbed in their activity, that they don’t feel fatigue and passage of time, and ignore the outside world.
And there is another state. The feeling of absolute trust in the world. As if the Higher Power leads you through the events in your life, making the best of it. Exactly the best, even if it doesn’t look like the best at first sight. This state also provides the feeling of amalgamation with the outer world, people, animals, environments, space. It’s impossible to hurt somebody or something in this state, because everything is you, and you are everything.
In the painting, the person is painted with a contour to highlight the feeling of lightness and unencumbering, which appear in the above-mentioned states. The person fearlessly and slowly falls into the sea, straight into the turbulent waters, knowing exactly nothing can hurt them. Because this person is a sea, and waves, and clouds, and air.
