IV International Paradjanov Festival is decentralized, integrating and significant event, which traditionally includes art exhibition in the cultural-art center “Suputnik”, the open-air cinema in Levandivsky Park, “Theatre Night”, music events and performances, lectures and discussions with guests from various parts of Ukraine and the world, master classes for children and adults, gala concert on the Independence Day.
International Paradjanov Festival was held in Levandivka for the fourth year. At the very beginning, the festival has activated the Levindivka community, and with the time it has developed in the annual platform of intercultural and international communication. In 2019 the festival was focused on the 95th anniversary of the birth of Sergiy Paradjanov and the phenomenon of the Seventies in the Ukrainian culture. Festival’s theme of this year – “The point of movement”.
The festival attracts up-to-date cultural discourses and makes them accessible to the public. The festival aims to initiate a dialogue between the artists and the Levandivka residents, the establishment of new cultural connections, leveraging the lecture room as a platform for discussing timely public and social problems, reinterpretation of the surrounding environment.
The art exhibition is an indispensable part of the festival and serves as a communication bridge between the community and the world of modern art. With the help of emerging art practices, the youth fights with the marginalization of personal development, caused by the unstable economic-social situation in the country.
Participation is open to the projects of the different forms of modern art: painting, graphic arts, sculpture, photography, installation, performance, theatre and music, masterclasses, and lectures.
