In the first few months of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the russian federation, the Ukrainian People's House in Przemyśl became a place where refugees from Ukraine could receive help, food, and a place to sleep. The beds were located in the theater hall of the Ukrainian House.
In a very symbolic way, sleep, the most private and intimate human action, turned into public action. In the Theater Hall, where performances, concerts, and literary readings were held, beds were set up and people began to make the private in the public space.
People were going to sleep in front of everyone. They left the publicity of the theater hall for the privacy of sleep. Only in a dream could people be alone with themselves, enter their inner world. Wounds, traumas, and pains are healed in dreams. Experience is relived and integrated. New paths are found. New connections are built.
